Il Present Perfect è uno dei tempi verbali più importanti e particolari dell'inglese. Non ha un equivalente esatto in italiano.
Struttura
Soggetto + have/has + Participio passato
- I/you/we/they → have
- He/she/it → has
- Forma contratta: I've, you've, he's, etc.
Esempi:
- I have eaten an apple.
- She has written a letter.
Quando si usa
1. Azione iniziata nel passato che CONTINUA nel presente
I have lived in London for 5 years. (vivo ancora)
(In italiano: vivo a Londra da 5 anni — presente).
2. Azione recente con effetti nel presente
I have lost my keys. (ora non ho le chiavi) He has just arrived. (è qui ora)
3. Esperienza di vita
I have visited Paris. (almeno una volta nella vita) She has never tried sushi.
4. Azione che SI È APPENA conclusa
We have just finished dinner.
Avverbi tipici
- for: durata (for 3 hours).
- since: momento iniziale (since 2020).
- just: appena (I have just arrived).
- already: già (She has already eaten).
- yet: ancora (frase negativa/interrogativa: Have you finished yet?).
- ever / never: mai (Have you ever been to Rome?).

Errori frequenti
- ❌ I have been to Rome yesterday. → ✅ I went to Rome yesterday. (tempo specifico → Past Simple)
- ❌ I have lived here since 5 years. → ✅ I have lived here for 5 years. (for = durata)
- ❌ I have went there. → ✅ I have gone there. (participio, non past simple)
In pratica
Il Present Perfect è la chiave per parlare di esperienze, novità e durate in inglese. Senza, l'inglese suona "italianizzato". Esercitarsi con scioglilingua come "I've been here for three hours and I still haven't seen him" aiuta a impadronirsene.
